A new mystery -solving trio! I loved the novella and wanted more! Peggy, Nadine and Jen are friends who have just discovered they have paranormal powers. When a man is murdered while preparing for a Halloween festival, it's up to the ladies to solve the case. Since they are new to their "powers", it was fun to see them learning how to use them. The fact they are middle-aged and independent women, made the characters more relatable to me. The mystery is fast-paced and kept me guessing! I'm impatiently waiting for the next book!

Spinoff of Peachtree series! by Barbara Kelley This is Book 1 of A Murder Posse Mystery series. J. A. Whiting has taken the 3 middle-aged women book club sleuths (Peggy, Nadine, and Jennifer) from the Peachtree Point Mystery series and developed a new series with the three ladies gaining both psychic and other paranormal abilities, in order to solve crimes. This episode was about a man who was stabbed to death, with 3 likely suspects to choose from. It was extremely good, and I liked the way the author used each of the ladies' names in each paragraph where the spoke, so that I would know exactly who was saying what. I gave this novella a 5 star rating and can hardly wait for Book #2.

I had no idea this was a spinoff of a different series! I found out about that only after reading reviews once I was done with the book. I could tell there was a lot unsaid, as the characters have powers but it’s not clear where they come from. But I believed that it might be explained in the next instalments, as this book was very short and felt like an introduction for a series. I liked the main characters, we don’t get to know them very well but definitely enough for me to know I want more! The story was so short but felt very complete, and I liked both the mystery and the resolution. The fact that the three women are still trying to figure out how their new abilities work is something I like to read, and I hope we get to see more of that in the next books.

Three witches Three woman discover that they have certain powers when they are together. They saved the librarian when someone tried to kill her. They yet get feelings when things are wrong. They discover Bill has been stabbed in parking lot where the setup for Halloween is happening. A little disappointed in this book but will try the next one in this series.

This is good J A is my top of my list of favorite authors. This book is a quick read. I think the characters might become better defined in future books. The mystery was good although I guessed it. Will read more.

Fun new series I enjoyed this new series. The three main characters are women who enjoy each other’s company and share some fun and interesting skills. I look forward to seeing how these characters and others develop. Short story and an easy read.

Come on! Lazy, sloppy writing, cardboard characters, and plot holes a fleet of trucks could drive through; no redeeming value at all. I only refrained from throwing this book against the wall because it was so short.

A good beginning. A good short read. Seems to be a good introduction to the Murder Posse. I look forward to reading the next book.
